Last night the Crocs shoe saved my foot

The plan: grab another beer from the fridge, open it, enjoy.
The execution: desperately hiding a beer in an overfilled fridge is never a good idea.
While grabbing it, the cottage cheese started following the laws of physics, to name a few: fricting (lack of that is), gravity (the story would have ended otherwise if the mass of a pack of cottage cheese is greater than that of the earth).
I saved the cheese, dropped the bottle, stepped into the debris and a very sharp piece of glass sliced right through the mid-section of my Crocs. As the cut in the shoe is wide, deep and ugly and my foot only received a marginal cut (only a flesh wound, don't shoot me now!), I can be thankful to a big, ugly, clumsy, but thickly cushioned shoe.

Asus EeePC900

I ordered my Eeee on december 7th 2007 and was one of the happy, that got their machine still before end of january. It's a great, very usable device.
And here it is, the Eee900.
I like the comparison with the Psion5 and Netbook, as I was a very happy user of Psion machines since the Psion3 series. After all, it was Potters Scientific Instruments Or Nothing.

Web to print 2.0 - take it, touch it, turn it.

A html form on the web is today the simplest form to get data from man to machine.
Fill out the fields, press submit, end of story.
The concept of web-to-print, where a form is the gateway to personalize sophisticated documents, is around for a few years now.
It's an easy and efficient way to produce standardized documents, with as little effort as possible. And the results even look all bright and shiny.
In a lot of solutions, Pixelboxx is a key component, supplying a pdf engine with the right-sized images.
An even more sophisticated way of producing tangible goods out of a simple piece of web data is RPM.
RPM, rapid prototyping and manufacturing parts, is a technology to create 3d things, made of ABS plastics, out of some digital data.
Sort of a laserjet with 3 dimensional plastics output.
RedEye RPM is a website, where you upload a cad file, get a price quote, order whatever you designed in that cad file and get it.
Rapid Prototyping - like web to print with nipples.
