A salute to food photography

At first glance, this looks a lot like a before and after show. Only it's not quite clear "before what" and "will there be an after at all".
The guys at The West Virgina Surf Report put up a not so nice comparison chart with fast food advertising and the products delivered.
Food photography really kicks ass. Fast food - not so.
